we're back! Regular visitors and centre users will have be aware of the "difficulties" that have presented themselves over the last year - for those who are unaware, our roof fell in and we had to move to a different (much smaller) building for several months, while other staff were temporarily redeployed to our other offices. (Our thanks to clients and centre users alike bearing with us throughout) But now, we're back. Bigger and better than before. Of course, we still offer most of the services that we did before the closure, but there's now much more; there's a myriad of new projects on the drawing board, including but not limited to, the refurbishment of Port Glasgow's Comet replica, a deaf media project, community projects and an expansion of our sister project's presence (Trust Employability) in the centre, with the inclusion of workers dedicated to the government funded Future Jobs Fund. We'll also get the website(s) back up and running asap. Probably. trust regeneration trust regeneration operates the Port Glasgow Regeneration Centre at 7½ John Wood Street in Port Glasgow. Don't worry, we're not changing our name, we'll still be 7½ - the addition of the trust regeneration name is simply to help the public relate our services to the Inverclyde Community Development Trust ("The Trust") as part of our efforts to raise awareness of all our services throughout the Inverclyde area. |

heritage - "from newark to newark" The centre's Heritage project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, recently produced a book outlining a "peoples' history of Port Glasgow" which was made available free to the public. Our supplies of this book unfortunately ran out in a surprisingly short space of time, and given that the project is about to reach its conclusion it is unfortunate that the book is unlikely to be reprinted. We would like to thank all that took part in making the publication possible and also thank the people of Port Glasgow, Inverclyde and beyond who took the book to their heart and made it so popular. As we cannot provide further printed copies of the book, we've made it available for download here. (You'll need Adobe Reader or similar) Hopefully this will also provide a way for ex-pats and other folks around the world to read up on what seems to be the most popular book in the area for a while. Of course, we'd be delighted to hear your feedback on the book. Please feel free to e-mail us on newarkbook@trustregeneration.org.uk |
